So, my niece graduated high school. They had graduation on friday night at 8pm.
sophy and I got up and began the trek to the
U.P. (Escanaba to be precise). A 4 hour drive made 5 hours by rest-stops and food-stops.
Oh, that "eh?" part on my title? It's part of the
Yooper dialect. For those not familiar with it...
We got there in time for setting in and then heading to dinner.
sophy stayed at the motel during the ceremony due to her fibromyalgia. I went to the ceremony and was fine, until I sat in the bleachers. Then it got hotter and hotter. Too many people. Well, guess who happened to have a panic attack. I told my sister I had to go, that I couldn't do it. I ended up leaving before the ceremony started. It took me 5 minutes to get to breathing normally before I could start the car to drive back to the motel.
Later, people came back. We were going to go to my nephews, but my sister knocked on the door and told me she was going to her old coffeeshop hangout. Mom and dad drove her there. On the way, I guess, my mom told her not to stay out too late (my sister has fibro along with other issues...) Holly (my sister) told my mom "I'm not 5 years old you know" (my sister is 44... I'll have to tell you about her travails later) Anyways, she told Rose (sophy) that my dad pulled the car over and yelled at her telling her not to talk to my mother that way...
So yeah, family drama.
Anyways, my nephew, Tim and his girlfriend Jenny came to our room and hung out with me and Rose. It was nice to hear him say that I had been a positive influence in his life. I think I want to see "The Descent" due to their comments on the movie.
He also was talking about how redneck his dad is. Apparently his dad wanted to pay for Tim to paint his car in Camouflage. Yea, you read that right. Tim said "why don't you give me the money so I can put it towards a better car?"
