Christ... I now am warned of vandalism for the wiki entry of Steve Biko, because I noticed some stupid vandal kiddie put obscene shit in the page. I edited it when I wasn't logged in, and upon further reading, I noticed that there was more vandalism, and realized I wasn't logged in. I logged in, and tried to fix it. Somehow, the other vandalism correction got removed in the meantime, and when I went to edit, it reverted back to the old vandalism, and it appears I did it (that's all that I can tell... I'm not sure why it shows me as putting text in there that I didn't put in...) The next edit is clearly me REMOVING the vandalism that it lists me as having put in, in the first place.

Fortunately, the admins locked the page from vandalism. I hope that works, because it pisses me off that someone would do such a thing, especially to Steve Biko.

I replied to the person who accused me of vandalism and pointed them to my lj userinfo page so they can see my personal stance/history on such things as liberation movements/radical justice. I also tried to make a point that I am a wiki-gnome and that not only would I not vandalize a page of a cause I support, but I wouldn't vandalize period. Even the most vile hateful shit that I oppose (Nazis, etc...) I wouldn't vandalize.

It's a real shame that somehow I am perceived as a vandal. Hopefully my name gets cleared up. Before I edit, I'm going to have to learn how to make proper edits so shit doesn't revert in the meantime or whatever happened. I don't know why it appears that I vandalized something, because I know for a fact I didn't.

Yay! wiki issue resolved.

Unfortunately I came off a bit harsh (surprised, roadriverrail?) I was trying to defend my self, and again I guess I must have used a bit more force than I meant to.

Anyways, the guy reviewed my edits, and saw that I was trying to clean up the page/vandalism, so he struck out the "vandal" mark.

His first word in his reply to my defense (on my talk page) was "whoa..." So yeah, I think I may have been a bit headstrong in my self-defense.
