When he does that little double-timey/speed up thing, what time signature is that? He does something odd with it, right? Just curious. It's kinda cool, I think :)
The whole piece is in common time, aka 4/4. The part where it seems to shift doesn't actually change time/ tempo, it's just filled with triplets, which are basically three notes filling up the space of one beat (IE - three eighth-notes taking the space of one quarter note; usually two eighths equal one quarter).
It's also swung quite a bit. I suspect if it was played straight it would have been easier to tell it was triplets. But yeah triplets over 4/4 is basically it.
