Microsleep...
Episodes of sleep fractions of a second due to prolonged lack of regular sleep.
-----------
What of microsleep dreams?
Is what happened to me today? A microsleep dream?
It is the third hallucination I've had in a few years.
The first was an auditory hallucination. I heard 2 distinct snare drum hits in quick succession. And nothing more. There is nothing that can explain it aside from hallucination.
The second was the first time I even thought about it existing... Smell. I smelled a very strong citric orange scent, but there was absolutely nothing in the house that would emit that odor.
And then today... I honestly can't believe I saw it, but I did. I was very tired at work today, gazing and just not "there." But my attention was grabbed by a translucent green hand (kinda holographic projection-like) that appeared suddenly before my eyes. I jumped, and the first thought was that Jackie (our secretary) had put her hand in front of my face (but this was fairly absurd, since I was hunched over my desk, and being the big guy I am, it's a bit difficult to reach your hand around my body to place it in front of my face. Of course, as I snapped out of it, I realized I had a hallucination. I announced it fairly quickly. I think they think I'm nuts now or something, but such is not the case.
I should note in here, also, that my eye has been twitchy as of late. I feel no overwhelming stress that would seem to lead to this. Unless it's all just subconsciously peeking out from behind the veil. (and I use that term with the many implications of it's usage, especially as in maya: the hindu concept of the world as illusion)
It just fucking freaked me out.
