Anybody know anything about ants? I don't know if this is even a good enough shot to ID them (if you go to my flickr page, you can see the pic full size. I'm thinking maybe
vyoma might have a clue, or perhaps know some entomologists who may have a better idea? I can't quite tell if they have single or double petioles, I'm hoping the style of antennae might help, I can't tell what kind of segmentation it has... I highly doubt it's identifiable, but if so, I'd appreciate any help. You can see the text next to it, to maybe give a better size indicator. It's Barbara's Shredded Wheat Biscuits... heh. Just if anyone has both ant-knowledge and that cereal available. One more clue for size. I'm not sure... Maybe an 1/8 inch. something like that. fuckers... grr... got some combat ant bait. seems to be dying down a little, but they don't seem to be taking to it as well as I thought they would. gonna try the other kind of bait to see if that helps...

There's always something they can find to eat and now that they have scent trails leading to your home, you're kinda fucked. I battled ants for years until I just sorta let them win. I lived in harmony with my fellow insect friends for a year. It wasn't too bad.
But definitely go for ant bait that is the kind they bring back to their queen. Those tend to be more successful.
(god damn, those fuckers are cute. Sorry, I love bugs.)
