Makes me wonder. Theo obviously, as he says, is a talented coder. He's also quite infamous for being a complete ass. He has virtually no social tact. He's opinionated and obstinate.
But the clue here, I think, is that he didn't even notice Perens (who, if you know computer geekery, you should know his name, IMO) going for a handshake indicates an inability to notice such social context.
So I wonder... Does he fall somewhere on the ASD? It kind of fits. But of course, it would only be speculation... But it would definitely explain a lot of things, I think.
Theo is a real sharp programmer, and an eloquent writer when he wants to be. I met him once. I went to shake his hand. I swear, he did not notice. This left me to think that when Theo commits social gaffes, it is not his fault and he can't help himself. We all have our lacks, issues, and strengths.
