symbioidljI predict that there will be another terrorist attack, and probably in the not too distant future. Not that there will be a "lapse" of security(I still believe the jury's out on 9-11 in terms of what was known, and what actions were taken in order to prevent it), but rather, the "lapse" of security will instead be an intentional non-act by the powers-that-be. Conspiratorial you say? Yeah, I guess you could say that. Am I afraid/concerned/frightened? No. Fear is what gives them power. Them meaning both the "evil-ones" terrorists and the "holy-crusaders" terrorists.
Why do I say this? The war must continue on for the next decade. It was declared so at the beginning to be a very long war, we must show our "national resolve"... So the media and propaganda machine simply cannot let us forget the horrors that those wacky Fundy Muslims perpetrated... But it's happening already. It's true that everywhere I go I still see the fucking flag on every other fucking car out there(and this is in the liberal bastion of Madison! I don't even wanna think what it's like out in hickville...), but the zeitgeist is fading into the frigid air of yore. The war is indeed going to be covert. Does anyone believe that the disinformation campaign that was halted at the pentagon is actually halted? Of course not. The function was distributed to some other agency. It happens all the time anyways. I'm not trying to say things are bleak or bright. No value judgements here. Just a simple belief that there will be another attack someday. The credibility of the intelligence agencies are at stake if it happens, but the long term goal must be taken into account. And all that has to happen is a "congressional inquiry" into the failure of the intelligence community to prevent another attack. Maybe someone will be a scapegoat. And that's that, they'll get more funding, and life goes on. Ob-la-di, ob-la-da...
