NEW YORK (Reuters) - The Pentagon (news - web sites) is developing plans to provide news, possibly even false information, to foreign media organizations as part of a new effort to sway public sentiment and policymakers in other countries, the New York Times reported on Tuesday.

OK, so first, normal everyday propaganda isn't bad enough. They're trying harder, and even are admitting that they may provide "false information"(ok, at least they're admitting they're lying). But how the fuck is that going to sway people in our favor?
I was reading about Goebbels, the master Nazi propagandist. The reason he was so successful was because he was forthright with the truth. *He* was a man who spoke the truth and said what he meant. The people trusted him, cuz they knew he would not betray that trust, even if it means swallowing the bitter pill of truth. Maybe our leaders could learn from him, but more than likely, I think not. Shit, I mean, grandpappy Bush helped finance Hitler, so there's some links at least, maybe Dubya oughta get back to roots and learn from family ties?
