Waste of your time: (Something I found on my drive that I wrote way back yonder 4-8-01)
--------------------------------
"Wanna know the reason I dropped out of it all?" He asked.

"Yes, that's what I've been trying to figure out all along." came the reply from the much older man

"Cuz I don't wanna play the game. I don't wanna play THEIR game."

"But don't you see? By not playing the game, the game is playing you. You're a victim of the game. You have to learn to take control and play the game yourself, and only then will you not get played."

"Wrong. By playing the game, even manipulating the rules to my advantage still means i'm being played. Everyone is being played, it's just a matter of how. You think that by using the rules to your advantage means that you're not getting fucked. You think you're clever enough to figure out the rules. You think you know how to get ahead. But you are just as much a victim as I."

"You're only a victim if you tell yourself you are."

"Wrong. You only THINK you're a victim if you tell yourself you are. You ARE a victim, whether you think you are or not."

"But isn't this just more victimization?"

"Look, EVERYONE uses victimization as a ploy to advance their scheme. It is the only way to propagate such things. Christians, Satanists, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Blacks, Indians, Hispanics, Asians, Women, Capitalists, Communists, Anarchists, Fascists, Nazis, Poor People, Rich People... All of them think they're victims, and the reason they do, is because they all have some sort of belief. This belief requires some victimization process. Without seeing oneself as a victim, one doesn't need to correct this victimization.

"You may be a victim of political enemies, of sin, of racists, of karma, of ignorance, of knowledge, of well... just about anything. Victim might not be the right word. It fit the earlier discussion of the "game" but it goes much deeper. That game is only a symbol of something much deeper. A search for meaning and social organization, structure, rules... All these things are games, and we are the pawns. There is no real game-master manipulating us. It's a self-contained game. The rules are etched in. Memetics. We are not being played in a mighty game of good vs evil. We are merely trying to survive. We are merely trying to find resources to position ourself towards greater power. This quest for higher power is the great goal of the "game" The higher power means different things to different ideologies.

"Concepts like Truth, God, Justice, Liberty, Equality, Beauty, Compassion, Equanimity, Fraternity, etc... All these things are really just an extension of one thing. The goal, the quest of the game. The search for order. In order to abandon the game, you need to abandon this search. This quest is the exact same thing that makes you a sucker, and the harder you try to find a solution, the deeper you get sucked in."

"But," the old man replied, "but... What about these concepts. Surely there must be some truth behind them. You can't just go around killing anyone. Are you advocating complete amorality?"

"Quite the contrary, I am advocating the truest morality. The morality of being. Of being without being co-erced into playing the game. Instead of allowing ourselves to naturally follow these hallowed concepts, we try to rationalize them, we try to conceptualize and concretize them. These are really abstract concepts that have different meanings to different people. Justice to you might mean reparations for your race having been a slave. Justice to another might mean a right to keep what you've earned. It is all relative. This is the essential conflict between people... We all demand rights, but these rights conflict upon others rights. Man has developed rules to organize and resolve these disputes. We call it law, we call it government. We call it the great institution of humanity. It is none of this. It is an enforcer of so-called morals, forcing people into blind obedience without following their true will, without listening to the morality within. Am I saying there is a universal concept of truth, justice, etc...
No. Am I saying anything? No."

"Well, you're telling me that you wasted all my time to tell me you were saying absolutely nothing?"

"Right."

"Well."
