What about an online virtual garden/farmer game. People purchase plots of land, and have fun tending to the garden. But the plants can die if not paid proper attention too... It could be a simple interface for a fun experience like "Sims" or something... But, maybe even have an advanced version with information such as humidity, rain, sunshine, soil PH, etc... Just a way to play...

Maybe like a strange combination of Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing. I think it would be fun to have an online collectible game with a world of vast exploration...

I would enjoy being able to choose between various agricultural systems (conventional, petrochemical/industrial, organic, biodynamic, veganic, permaculture, etc.), or perhaps play various sytems against one another in different settings with varying crops and climates and soil conditions and throw in some wild cards like late frosts and plagues of locusts.

...and I suppose how one finds a market for the produce ought to be a part of it too. Community supported agriculture? Mass-market crops shipped cross-country or sold to canning companies? Specialty heirloom varieties sold at upscale farmers' markets? The possiblities boggle.

I suppose the best game designers have to figure out where the best line to draw is... One could always get more detail somewhere... But I suppose they've already created mass market sims(ie: you have a corporation, lead it to success, etc...) What if they concentrated all the simulation towards this network of distribution. I'm surprise no-one's made a "music industry" sim... god that would suck. But maybe it could teach a lesson on the shit that that fucking industry does. Maybe downhillbattle could make a game on that! haha!

You can have gardens in the Sims. But they are pretty basic...
