This event features Sanjay Subrahmanyan, considered the foremost among the younger generation Carnatic Classical (South-Indian Classical) vocalists from India. The Carnatic Classical Music system, the most evolved classical music sytem from India, is based on a combination melody and rhythm which elevates the listener to the new plane of joyous appreciation. Sanjay would bring vocal rendition of Carnatic Music to the Madison campus after a gap of more than two years. He will be accompanied by Nagai Muralidharan on the violin and Mannargudi Eswaran on the Mridangam (Percussion). The purpose of this event is to give the Madison community a taste of the rich and diverse Indian Classical Music. This event is open to all students, faculty and staff of UW and to all music lovers of Madison in general.
