cuz weren't hogan's heroes POW's? I think my idea is pretty tasteless. I could definitaly see the ADL and B'nai B'rith being really really pissed off about that.
It wouldn't work from a jew's perspective, which is probably why Hogan's Hero's used Pows. You'd have to change the whole cast every couple episodes. Hence it becomes a drama, situation comedies rely on a familiarity with the characters for you to watch them in a variety of "situations". If you primary cast members are being gassed as fast as possible it kind of ruins the whole concept. I'd go with the refugee camp...
...reminds me of "Home Free" the lively sit com about homeless people mentioned in the movie "The Fisher King". Anyway, any show is going to offend somebody whether you pick subject matter like that or not. Imagine how the homophobic feel everytime they seen Queer Eye, or Queer as Folk advertised....or Will and Grace.
