symbioidljripped my first dvd tonight, am working on encoding to avi, and am going to see how it turns out.
still should focus on getting my cd's ripped first. plus i've only got 100 GB to play with at this point. Maybe an external server at some point would be good, put all my movies on, and do like <lj user="vesicular"> did with his emulator roms, and hack up a front end(heh, yeah, like I've got the skills for that...) I think he plans on doing something similar for movies.
I'd just need to get an IrDA port so we can use a remote and figure out how to code it. i'm sure it's a bit of work. anyways... yeah. need to get to bed a bit earlier, because I have to be in at 8:30 instead of 9:00...
Prolly gonna take some valerian. blah.
