I plan on writing a book about my perception of the world, my own philosophy as it were(which of course, isn't "my own", but just my blend of things) I don't perceive it to be anything unique or new, but i may as well write it, because I would like to have some sort of quasi-coherent formulation(as coherent as I can, at least)
I was initially gonna call it the apotheostikon or apotheosistikon, but decided that was a bit pretentious(apotheosis meaning "becoming god", "The Book of Becoming God" certainly sounds pretentious, but The Book of Sym Knowledge doesn't sound nearly as bad. sure, it's somewhat pretentious, but at least it's not as bad as some all encompassing thing. and it is my knowledge, my view, so it's quite apropos. I think I may make that the focus of my website, since it's languishing in a shitty hell of disrepair(my cd database hasn't been updated in ages, one of these days, I'd like to write some sort of software that can read my discinfo from freedb, and insert it into a mysql database and then code a proper interface online for it... but that's a lot of work. the freedb code is confusing to me. I know there's a perlmodule for it, and my guess is that that's the route I'd have to take... the documentation at freedb is quite sparse and i can't seem to find any really good info on how to read the cd and get the discid and look it up(then again, TCP programming is probably beyond my ken at this point anyways)
other than that, i think i want to try to figure out how to set up an online payment system for my site so people could order some prints if they want. of course, i need a printer eventually in order to do that. and publicity to get people to actually go to my site.
sigh.
tired. waiting for gimp to compile. then need to sleep.
also. shaved my head finally tonight. woot.

Date: 2004-05-25 08:04 pm (UTC)basically, i need something that can read the freedb info, insert it into a mysql database, and the mysql format should be documented fairly well, so I can create a php script that can perform queries.
I'll download it and see if it works the way i need. it can't hurt either way, i suppose.
