symbioidljso after a lengthy period of messing with config files, and recompiling the kernel multiple times, i finally got my nvidia card to compile and have xwindows work with opengl. unfortunately, i don't have gnome or kde yet, so all i have is that shitty twm, and so now i must compile away on gnome and get that up and running, i hope the latest versions are a vast improvement(the last version i was using was 2.2, they're up to 2.6 now)
if i don't like it, i'll go to kde(which is nice eye-candy, but slow... apparently, though, it's faster now, with the new 2.6 kernel)
I was gonna work tomorrow(or should I say today), but when you're up til 5:00 am hacking away, you come to think that maybe you can't pull that off. I'll just bust ass the next many nights during the week(especially since Rosemary doesn't have to be picked up for anything, it's definitely doable) Welllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll...
off to compile, and bed, and wish me luck that nothing goes wrong during the process(i'm sure it won't, gentoo is nice that way-- it's configuring everything after it's installed that's rough, but it's hella better than most distros of linux for installation)
