"Most immediately, remove the barrier to peer file sharing for enterprise Linux deployments. This fits nicely with Nat Friedman's ambitions that GNOME should have collaboration tools as one of its next-step goals."
------
Collaborative technology(especially regarding content creations systems) is something that I've also frequently had on my mind.
Two in particular are collaborative graphics and collaborative research(especially using HTML/the web and bookmarks/annotations) I believe I've briefly posted on these topics previously. This is awesome that they're working on this in GNOME.
I initially hated GNOME, cuz it just wasn't "pretty" and there are some things that I think could be improved, but I believe that GNOME has some really strong ideas and research the more I look at it.
Maybe I should get in touch with the community. Read message boards/forums on their research and perhaps offer suggestions and ask to learn and see if some people would like to "take me under their wing" as it were.
i can't code, but perhaps I can write documentation and other things(ie: specs, etc...)
who knows, but I think I would like to get into the open source community.
After my bugzilla experience, I'm prepared to be a bit bruised by it, but I think I can contribute and provide and learn and share.
How wonderful!
