Stupid Stupid War...

God, I forgot all about these guys, but I remembered them tonight and figured something I should DL them and reminisce about the days gone-by.

Burned a bunch of discs from Tony. The new Tool, the new Oval, Amnesiac... hrrmmm. Kid A, and others. Yes, I WILL buy them eventually, cuz I totally support these artists. Just can't afford it at this point.

Saw AI... Fairly decent. I wish it were really directed by kubrick. *sigh* I still highly recommend seeing it, because, well, I mean, Kubrick and Spielberg and Boy Robots and Pimpbots... And I dunno. Yes, there were a lot of derivatives in here(ie: wizard of oz, bladerunner, pinnochio, mad max...) But I thought it was sufficiently dark. Essentially divided into three parts, the first being very good, the middle being interesting in concept, but kinda cheesy in execution ie: mad-maxish rip-off, but then kinda going into part b of the 2nd part, which was the flooded new york scene you hear about and saw in the trailer... And after that, it looks like it might end, but some very interesting surprise occurs. Very un-expected, but it was an interesting concept at the end... Well, the very end was mildly hollywood, mildly not.

One word kept popping through my head: oedipus complex.

And the blue fairy, I think there was a secret underlying correlation between god, and the fairy(the goddess) and also, one little quip from pimpbot(Gigolo Joe), about the blue-fairy being a virus.. well, I'll just say I think they were equating god with a virus in the mind...(like memes/Snow Crash, perhaps) I also think I know where he really gained his humanity, but I won't spoil the surprise at this point. I'll wait a week or so, and post it.

Hrrmm. Work tomorrow. What a bitch. I didn't mail out the roll I was supposed to on Friday, but I busted my ass getting another one out, and if Greg didn't stop in and interrupt me with his shit(which WASN'T urgent, mind you), I prolly could've gotten it out. Oh well. I had to let go and just accept it wasn't gonna get out, cuz I was stressed trying to push it out. I would've gotten an ulcer, I swear.

Fuck I need sleep.
