Working on my web-page. I'm Sooooooo fucking excited about it. I feel like I'm half-way between a professional and an amateur right now. Trust me, the page you've seen already is not even close to what i'm doing now. I'm really concentrating on a few things:
1) universality of design throughout the site, including a standard navigational interface(aka: the navicon)
2) standard color scheme, pretty appealing, actually, IMHO. Soft blues, greys and purples.
3) Using Javascript Rollovers, CSS and tables extensively. A lot of the code is re-used.
I'm using Coffeecup software. It's nice. I can create snippets of code to re-use and save them to a file so if I need to throw in a standard element or item, I can. I used the snippets to create some skeleton code for each page. Very nice.
I have a help section which is supposed to guide the user fairly quickly through the navigation process. I'm still working on that right now. Then I'm gonna work on the gallery(called occulus) and get that laid out in a decent manner. Then, perhaps sonatic(sound/music) and theoreticon(the experimental media theory part of the site, which is what I really want to work on, but that's gonna take a while. The nice thing about the design is that I can add sub-nodes and easily integrate them into the site without having to do a drastic redesign, like I used to do with all my old sites.
I'm very excited. I know I need to sleep, but I don't want to. I don't wanna go to work. I gotta see the Dr. tomorrow for the first time, cuz I got my health insurance. Woohoo! I didn't go to work this weekend like I wanted to, but oh well. I wanted to work on my site. and I did...
Once I get a modicum of data up, I will let my friends preview it before it's fully ready to post to the world in order to obtain some useful feedback.
Oh and I simply LOVE this song... Heard it once when I was on shrooms and could not believe that I heard something in such 3 dimensional space before. I closed my eyes and felt as though I were under water with kelp floating in the waves around me. mmmm.
Good night everybody!
(good night dr. nick!)
