After having converted all these CDs of mine to ogg, i'm a bit disappointed. I realized that they were only set to 128 kbps, vbr... But supposedly, that's supposed to be as good as a higher (~160 kbps) mp3. But I just dl'd my first bleep.com purchase. Squarepusher - budakhan mindphone. And I listened to the clarity of that shit at 320 kbps. and I realize: I need to re-rip all my shit to that.
I dunno. Maybe I should just mp3, since everyone else does, and if I get a player, chances are it will use mp3, unless maybe the rio players, I think are now supporting ogg. Man, all those hours spent ripping. *sigh*
But I'd rather do it right and get the best quality, then fuck it up the first time and continue doing it wrong.

That sucks.

Yay budakhan mindphone. I bought it for one track (Gong Acid) then realized I knew/liked almost all of the other tracks already. I've been flirting with Music Is Rotted One Note but I haven't taken the leap yet and bought anything. Of course, the list is huge (tons of AT work, the BoC stuff I don't have yet...)

Midnight Sound has a more traditional jazz vibe, davis/coltrane, etc... Early to mid 60s... Inner/Outer has a more fusion sound. Both are fucking amazing, IMO. They have another one that I never got into, but I think if I listen to it again, I'd like it. You can look it up, as well...
Yeah, Flanger is definitely one of my tops currently, of course, as well as all the rest.
Oh, you might be interested in Murcof, the album Martes is great. Glitchy sampled symphonic music. Very haunting and beautiful.
