had some bloodwork last friday, and an EKG... Nothing on the EKG, as far as I know, but the bloodwork, apparently showed low levels of T4 hormone.
What does that indicate(I haven't actually talked to my dr yet, but the secretary/nurse called, and I'm assuming it was T4 that was low, Fri. I go in and talk to the Dr... I'll get more details then)
Now..................What does it indicate? Hypothyroidism, so I just got some Levothyroxine tonight. Most of my chemical knowledge is the psychedelic/entheogenic kind. So hormone stuff is new to me.
It would explain a lot. I hope this may be a step in the right direction to helping me feel more active and maybe help with weight problems. I dunno, but we'll see. It sounds like it'll take a few months to really get any effects and to get the right dosage.
Here's the symptoms I saw with hypothyroidism that seem to fit me.
* Fatigue
* Depression
* Modest weight gain or increased difficulty losing weight
* Excessive sleepiness
* Dry, coarse hair
* Dry, rough, pale skin
* Increased cholesterol levels
* Decreased concentration
* Vague aches and pains
* Thinning hair or hair loss
* Irritability
* Memory loss
Symptoms that don't seem to fit:
* Cold intolerance(cold affects one more... I think because I'm fat, I'm more resilient with regards to the fucking freezing weather that kills mere mortals)
* Constipation - I seem to be able to take a dump like normal mortals. It takes me longer, but usually, that's cuz it's my sacred reading time!!! :) Actually, I frequently shit. So constipation is rarely a real problem.
* Abnormal menstrual cycles - Self explanatory(N/A)
* Decreased libido - I had attributed this to having taken Effexor, and some therapy(I had a porn addiction a few years ago) Maybe libido decrescendo was a result of hypothyroidism?
So that's the latest on my lovely health life. I hope that it offers some sort solution. I know that some things(ie: exercise) are still going to take willpower on my part, but if my fatigue is due to hypothyroidism, and the fake-T4 works, maybe i'll have more energy and zest to do stuff... And maybe I'll be more likely to be social, and less depressed.
Here's hoping to a new lease on life!
