It's long, but I think I made some interesting points. Some of it I agree with, some I don't.

Ray, don't read it, cuz you know, it's just one of those things where I ramble and end up contradicting myself.

Nothing to do with your post, I checked into you Acrobat question at work. I am not completely sure, but I think in order to edit a PDF, the person who made it had to use Acrobat Professional to create the editable text areas you are looking for. I think the only way to edit that particular PDF is to export it.
