Multiplayer Hexbgon variant: Dexagon(or Deckagon):
The playing field is open, each player has their own hex-bin on the side, filled with an array of hexagons to place on the field.
At the bottom of the screen is a “card deck” which has various “moves” to utilize(ie: revealing opponents hexbin for a period of time, or stealing one of their hexagons, etc…)
Below the hexbin(where a timer would be in the solo “timed attack” variant of the game), is a gauge that shows level of “energy”(like mana in M:TG) Each card has an associated energy-cost. Some cards, like ones revealing an enemies hexbin, for example, may have an added cost beyond the initial “charge”, so that for every point of energy you spend on an extra feature may accrue. In this case, it may be that an amount of extra time is given to look at the opponent’s hexbin per point of energy spent….
Every adjacent side that is connected by a player adds 200 points to their score. So, as in the single-player game a triad is worth 600 points. However, these points are gained, not after hexabombing the plex, but as the connection is formed.
(Have to figure out who “owns” a plex – Either, 1: Whoever has made the most connections in the plex, or 2: whoever last played a piece or made a connection on the plex… If 1 is the case, if there are equal connections, the point territory is neutral, and if bombed, no bonus points accrue?)
Need to figure out bombing score system…

Date: 2003-08-25 06:46 pm (UTC)Actually, now that I think of it, how cool would it be to have a Square One DVD set?
"Probability, don't you mess with me, as long as there's a ghost of a chance."

Date: 2003-08-25 07:10 pm (UTC)found it on amazon. Though, of course, it's not the actual seasons, and it's not DVD, but yeah, that would fucking rock!
Actually, I thought about the dodecagon after I thought of the variant title dexagon(or deckagon)
The idea would be that the first player to get two hexaplexes(a hexaplex is 7 hexagons, 1 center hex, surrounded by 6 others), would win...
I dunno, though. Programming this shit is very hard. whatever.
