The Sleepless Summer Tour also made it into an earlier AP story on President Bush's visit to Oregon. In a later story, the AP reports that President Bush raised $1 million at a luncheon in Portland today:
The president's motorcade route was lined with a few thousand chanting, sign-waving protesters, yelling "Shame on you" and other slogans. They thronged the streets around the University of Portland arena where Bush spoke but were kept distant from his motorcade by riot-gear clad police.
Bush was unfazed.
"Thanks for the warm welcome and the cool day," he told his supporters. "We have set a record today, a record fund-raiser which indicates the depth of support here in Oregon for which I am most grateful."
-------------
Now, seems to me that what he's saying is exactly that. DEPTH of support. Very few people with lots of money.
But not WIDTH of support(a shitload of people with little money, as Dean has supporting him)...
Which is more democratic?
Casey I'll reply to your reply in the coming day... I'm a bit petered out tonight...
