Suicide Kings

Yesterday I went with Rosemary, Matt and Shayla(and Angie for the first part of dinner, Matt took her home after lunch, cuz she needed sleep before work) to Target.

Rosemary and I registered on their "wedding" thing, where we got to go take a scanner and scan items we want for moving in, then our friends can go look up what we need, and buy moving in gifts. Heh, I kept giving Rosemary shit about how she hates lying so much, but she's intentionally misleading the store into thinking we're getting married. I mean, it's not like it's causing any harm, so i don't really care, but it's fun to give her shit about it, cuz she's all about "brutal honesty". (as I say I am, but in the end, i'm too chicken shit at times to just come out and say what i mean in order to keep "harmony" or whatever) OK, so we rented Reservoir Dogs and Suicide Kings. Of course, I've seen Ressie Dogs before, but not Suicide Kings.

All I gotta say is... WATCH IT! It's got Henry Thomas(aka: Elliot from ET... gotta suck to be known as that your whole life), Jay Moore, Christopher Walken, Denis Leary... Umm, I think there's others that I can't remember. Oh, the guy from Sopranos who has that lisp. The heavier guy? It's like... Damn, i dunno. It's about a kidnapping and a ransom and treachery and trickery. Some very nice little plot twists. It's executed so well that I didn't feel time was an issue at all. I've seen other movies with plot twists like this, and it seems like they just try to keep adding shit to keep the movie going, where this was just a well written story with excellent direction and excellent acting.

I give it 3.5 stars outta 4. maybe 3.75, but I don't wanna be too generous. Hmm, maybe I should make it 3.25? OK, somewhere between 3.25 and 3.75.

Hmm. For some reason I feel creative energy not within my reach today. It IS a bit cloudy out, maybe that's it. Maybe i just need to get my ass outside and breathe some fresh air, and maybe that'll help.

I had a great time last night. I need to harness energy. I guess I have a feeling right now of "what do I work on?" I got a midi cable yesterday to hook up to tony's keyboard. Grr. Now he's coming back today, so I feel like I should work on that before I have to give it back. I wanted to try to get it working with Cubase. Maybe he'll let me borrow it tonight a little longer? Umm, and then of course, my web page. I need to look at sites and figure out my structure a little better.

I talked to brent yesterday. He's the one behind assembler.org, vitaflo.com, and brentgustafson.com. I've known that kid since like 3rd grade(we met once in Kindergarten during a tour of a horse farm where we got to ride horses, but he doesn't remember that)... Anyways, he's got some cool accolades behind him. Massively talented that boy is. With a fine eye for critique of the web-design community. He uses DHTML mostly. Anyways, he understands the need for proper layout instead of just flashy graphics and shit, so he suggested i check out the International Herald Tribune and see how they layout their content and structure to get a good idea of how to layout shit on a page.

Hrrmmm... I'll shut up now. Promise.
