OK, so I finally updated my website and got a nice little design going(I think, at least)... I've also got my new e-mail... symbioid@symbioid.com(it just forwards it to my old account, but at least it looks cool.)
So, now that you've already once seen my site, I'd like to see what you think of the new design. Of course it's just the beginning.
I dunno if I'm gonna use style sheets or dhtml or javascript or what. I like the KISS philosophy(Keep It Simple, Stupid!) If I can get a decent design without having to do all the technical shit, why not? And if I need to learn something I guess I will.
There IS one thing I'd like to figure out how to do, but don't know if it's possible...
Combining Image Maps and Roll Overs... Imagine a button. You put your mouse over said button and a 3 item menu drops down from it. Now, you move your mouse over an item and click on it, and it rolls out three more(I guess I'm imagining something like the start menu in windows... kinda...) But I don't wanna use like generic Javascript menu things. I wanna actually create the graphic menus myself. Anyone have any clue how to do such a thing? I'm sure DHTML would work, but I have no clue how to do that... Maybe it wouldn't. I dunno.
Well, peace out y'all! I'm having a blast with this site. I almost don't wanna stop, but I've got a headache.
I think I'll convert some simple ambient tracks to ogg for you to hear tonight. Nothing great, but something to check out. And most importantly, I'd really REALLY like honest feedback. I know that the mixing on the tracks suck... If you know mixing and wanna offer advice, it'll be appreciated. But I think mainly I'm curious about composition. What works, what doesn't. Did you like a song, part of it, and if so or not... why? That is if you wanna take the time to listen. God I'm so demanding. :)
Peace out. If I get some tracks posted tonight, I'll let y'all know.

Date: 2001-06-09 07:41 pm (UTC)css is a piece of cake, specially if you use it to do things page [or site] wide, such as making all the links one color or making them all have a certain text decoration [or not have one!] or have a specific font/size for the whole page.
what website builder are you using or are you doing it all by scratch?
some sites to check out:
dhtmlshock [i think it's .com, but i'm not sure. type it into yahoo and it'll pop up.]
dhtmlcentral.com [i use his scripts all the time! he definately has the one you're talking about!]
lissa explains it all [a site written by a kid, but amazingly good stuff! she covers all sorts or stuff like css and java and such and explains it in a really easy manner. again, yahoo will find it easily.]
i will go check out your site now!
