I read this article on USA TODAY about the DLC using a poll to show that the Democrats need to be even more centrist...
I read the article, went to the DLC web page (DLC, btw, is the Democratic Leadership Council, a bunch of republican-lites, including Bill and Hillary...)
I went because I suspected this was a press release by the DLC. It doesn't look like it was. BUT!
I found from another article at the DLC page that they relied on a man named Mark Penn for the poll. So I typed Mark Penn into the search engine and found this article on USA Today...
From the article(this is about a different poll done in May of 2002, but it gives an indication of who Mark Penn is):
The profile is drawn by Democratic pollster Mark Penn, a former strategist for Bill Clinton who outlined his findings Tuesday for the New Democrat Network.
---------
Yeah, I'm gonna trust a poll funded by the people who tell me the results. Oooh, I'm shaking. I guess I'll just sell out to the middleman, and forget any vestige of principals. Sorry fuckers, I'm still sticking with Dean(though I prefer Kucinich, Dean is, to me, the most electable and at least somewhat progressive... Not the rabid lefty that the fucking DLC wants everyone to think. The DLC is quaking cuz they see the power that Dean has in his fund raising.)
shit. late for work. bye.
