Obviously, this person is just a bit of a commie(the list this is posted to is "Proletarian Democracy") While I agree Cathedrals are a waste of money and time, taking away from legitamate social work, the fact is, to me at least, that cathedrals are wonderful expressions of the human need to create. The divine architect within. The sacred space and principles they are built upon are something to be reckoned with. This little commie punk wants to destroy the grand heritage of human history. Should we have torn down the pyramids? Let's just flatten anything of any religion so we can have nice secular square drab buildings.(one thing I hate about communists are the uniformity and drabness that tends to result from their thinking. I prefer anarcho-communism if anything)

I agree, parks are good and important, but sheesh. Of course, this is just one punks opinion so I don't really give a shit. Not like the communist revolution is gonna happen anytime soon(if at all...)

I think they should be treated as what they are- works of art. The symbol of religion has become religion, which makes religion into nothing more or less than "the use of symbols to cause emotion/effect". So religion is just an art.

As for "legitamate social work"- who defines that?

well, his first 11 words are right, the rest is bullshit. There absolutely be taxes on both churches and hospitals for the property they rest on, plain and fucking simple, because otherwise, as is the case out this way, everything is becoming either a church or a hospital.

Hospitals, too, should not be run like the greedy corporations that they are. But that's just my opinion.
