What a weekend it's been.
A great wonderful one.
A real true vacation, I must add.
Granted, I wasn't the one who drove 8 hours, and I respect and thank
thetawaves for driving so far.
It started out with me being stressy and mildly grumpy, and I unfortunately snapped a little at
taeli when she stopped by for a brief visit to pick up
naiadea for the evening. Later, Theta got here, and it was nice to hang out for that first evening. So much happened, it's quite a blur, but I believe we just chilled that night, and hung out with
sophy, my girl.... We all hit it off smashingly, i think. We went to the Great Dane and had a nice little dinner there(at like midnight or something), and Theta got to try one of their micro-brews...
I think it was the next day when he came over. We headed down to State Street(Me, Tony, Rosemary(aka: Sophy), and K.(Aka: Theta)... Stopped and had lunch at noodles and company, I think she(K.) liked the Mac'n'cheese(almost as much as me!)... Stopped at knuckleheads, formerly a headshop now they just sell some stickers and tobacco, they're phasing out their pipes......... grrrrrrrrr... Luckily on the way up state street, we stopped at Pipefitters and found they still sold glass pipes, and were going to expand their selection a bit. Saw a shitload of silly shirts and all that... I don't recall where all we stopped that day. Oh, we also stopped at Shakti, which is a cool Spiritual/New-Age store in town, with a very nice selection of books, incense, thangkas, shirts, crystals, etc... Tony and I got to play with the Crystal meditation bowls. I have to get one of those. Amazing. Big big bowls of wondrous crystal, like 2 feet across, with a little mallet used to rub the edge, (like the old wineglass rubbing with your hand trick), but instead of a little whistle, just a very deep ancient resonant tone, that evokes such power. Beautiful beautiful beautiful.
But that evening we toked on the herb(me, Tony and K, sophy/Rosemary can't/doesn't due to allergies), and jammed on our drum machines/synths.(Tony has a korg ER1, and I an EM1)... He also brought his bongos, and K jammed a bit with us too. She was a bit shy, getting warmed up and all, but it was fun once it got going. Tony had to leave to see his cousin's band play, so K and I just talked for a long long time, a very wonderful theoretical spiritual discussion, and what I was hoping would be part of our weekend, and I'm glad it was... Just about potential for change, and our role in the world as seekers and such, and how everyone has a part to play with their own unique talents, and theories of spirituality and experiences, etc...............
Rosemary came home(she was out with her mother and friend Michelle(also no LJ), and we hung out and K got to meet Michelle and Mom Amico(
runningamok) and talked a bit.
Last night, Tony, K and I went downtown a little more(Rosemary wasn't feeling up to it after the big day before... she's chronically ill for those who aren't in the know... So she can get run down after a big day of walking.) We headed to Rainbow Bookstore Cooperative, which is pretty much one of the coolest things about Madison, I think... They are, as the name says, a Co-op, and as such, the workers run the joint. They have a great selection of alternative and leftist publications. Books, Stickers, Zine's, regular magazines, comme-prop rags... T-shirts, buttons... All wonderful stuff. I ended up purchasing an Anarchy sign shirt(had one a long time ago, but it got all torn up cuz it was so old), and the latest design they had(which also came in sticker form so I bought both,(designed bykersplebedeb)):

K/Theta bought some buttons, one was about school, and one was I believe a raised feminist fist or something like that? I'm sure she may post about it with more details.
Went to B-side where I bought the ATP(curated by Autechre) CD, which is pretty good now that I'm listening to it... Then to FourStar, but I think we didn't rent anything... They no longer had the Dead Can Dance: Toward the Within video, which sucked, nor did they have Alien DreamTime(Terence McKenna, SpaceTimeContinuum and Stephen Kent), and they used to have Trialogues at the edge of the west, but I didn't see that anywhere either. That was the second store the K said "I'm gonna have to pick this store up and bring it home with me... :)
We headed home and played with a package of Fireworks that Rosemary's mom bought, and that was fun, but the poor neighbors were closing their shades... It was smoky, bright and noisy. But it was still great.(even though I'm really not for the Fourth really that much)
Watched Baraka, and I think everyone really appreciated it(one of my favorite films. Just wonderful cinematography, though it would've been better on a TV screen that's larger than say....... 15 inches... heh, but at least it's a Sony Vega(or is it Wega?), so the image is nice and crisp. Too much bass made the speaker rumble, though... Mom Amico left and we ended up playing games, and there was some hot lesbian barbie kung-fu action between Tony and K/Theta, and we were just so fucking hyper it was a great fun time.
Finally everyone left, and today K came and dropped of some gifts for Michelle and Shayla and Tony... Rosemary, Michelle, K and I went out to eat at Perkins on her way out of town to leave for home... And Michelle and K bonded over taking care of disabled/special needs people... Tony didn't come with us, and I feel bad, I didn't call him. He was disappointed. He got his shaman drum rattle that K gave him, so he liked that... You're in his thoughts and he was glad to meet you Theta!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And with that I can say we all were glad to meet you, and it was a wonderful weekend, and I hope you had just as much fun as we did, and we'll meet again someday.
Peace and hugs....

your energies and your area, I guess I didn't realize
to what extent. I know we will be life-long friends
and this kind of love and security really is wind
beneath my wings (cheesy but true). Thank you so
much for everything.
