Personal Toolbar finally works! Just had to modify something. I don't know why it wasn't set manually by default. I don't know if Mandrake didn't have "Personal Toolbar" setup, or why it wasn't, but everytime I've used Mozilla before, it's always been there automatically.
Well I got it going. Now my websurfing will be much easier.
K, I'll write you soon.
On the other side, I've just been sickened by the news about the war. It's just getting more and more digusting. I'm sick of CNN and the national corporate media ignoring the shit happening.
I read a very interesting article that interviewed one of the British troops that was bombed by "friendly fire"... He's irate and wants justice. His friend was killed by American jets.
Seeing these asshole bigot americans make me sick.
I just am sickened by everything.
It's gonna happen. Revolution's gonna come. I just don't know how or where or when, or what will result, but things are coming to a boil.
I really believe that "conveniently" there will be another terrorist attack before the 2004 elections. Yeah, that's right, and you know who's going to benefit from said attack... W. Fucking W.
I'm sorry but I have absolutely no... NO trust in these fascist dictators to not do such a thing.
On the other hand, I was absolutely sickened by my pacifist co-worker who was blaming the troops for going to war. You will not gain any sort of agreement from them(one of my co-workers is in the National Guard), if you attack them and blame them. Jackie(our secretary) said "I know you oppose the war, but do you support our troops" and I said "Yes... think most people in the anti-war movement support the troops. They want them home safe, and not have to die for a needless war" And then Joe(the other anti-war guy) said "Not EVERYONE supports the troops. They're doing bad things..." etc... And he said they chose to sign up. And I mentioned how a lot of them didn't expect to actually go to war(but instead just needed money for school), and that, regardless of whether they chose to go to the military, they will suffer ill effects, nasty horrible psychological repercussions, and we need to be concerned about it. And then he got all defensive saying things like "You think they're any better than Iraqi troops" and I was like "No. Yes, they kill civilians, and some are gung-ho, evil about it. But others are traumatized. I read an article that showed the dichotomy between two different soldiers who had to kill civilians.(had??? )" Anyways, it sickens me to see this attitude that's blaming these people.
1) It gives a bad name to the anti-war cause when it sounds like you want these people(troops) to suffer.
2) It does no good to try to convince people of your point when you merely shout rhetoric, without showing compassion for ALL sides.
3) By going against the troops, you are merely serving to reinforce this notion that you are pro-saddam(not just against the war)...
4) Principles that stand for true justice, equality and morality must move beyond "us/them" views. Yes, it's important to criticize the actions that are happening. We absolutely must not excuse the massive slaughter that is occurring against innocents in Iraq. But we also need to understand that a lot of people are sheep. And that includes a lot of people on the left, too. And it's not their fault for going to war. Despite this murder of civilians, and the bullshit that's happening, until one is in the situation, we cannot judge how we would behave. The right to self defense exists on both sides. Yes, the Americans are the aggressors, and the Iraqis have the right to self defense... When you're on the line, it's hard to figure out what's going on, especially with the current tactics being utilized. That said, there is still a line that must be drawn. Bombing a marketplace is one. Whoever dropped those bombs should be prosecuted.
Bush should be prosecuted. I wish this nightmare would be over. I'm just sick.
Maybe tomorrow, it will be an Atari Teenage Riot day. Yeah, that'll make me feel good. :)

I often subscribe to the theory that those who are involved in the war are under the control of occult forces. Those who blindly follow one or another side are usually reactionary rather than showing signs of sovereignty of consciousness. That contrasts with folks like
I think the funniest thing in this whole war has been his comment in the recent MSNBC article on the sacking. He said (and I quote):
“I am still in shock and awe at being fired,” Arnett said.
Humor in the face of adversity. Give Fear the Flick :).

Date: 2003-04-01 07:48 am (UTC)For example, there's the thing of us killing civilians, but if Saddam stays in power, many many more innocent people will die by his hand. That's not to say either one is right, it's just an example.
As for prosecuting the person who dropped the bomb on the marketplace, you don't know if it was an intended target, a mis-guided missle, etc. They talk a lot about the "fog of war" on the TV, but there's also the "fog of journalism" as well, not to meantion people's own biases.
