symbioidljSo we went out today. Went to the bookstore, and I picked up "The Humane Interface" by Jef Raskin(gotta remove it from my Amazon wishlist now)... Should be a good read. Also got 3 discs: Aesop Rock "Labor Days"; Nobukazu Takemura "10th"; Melt Banana "MxBx 1998/13000 Miles At Light Velocity...
Went to the food co-op and got some good eats. Also bought some good chocolate. And................ Some of the finest Vanilla Creme Soda I've ever had. Nautral Brew Hand Crafted, by Smucker Quality Beverages(on the side label, it's not called Smucke) Made with Madagascar Bourban Vanilla Beans. It was soooooooooo fucking tangy. I like vanilla creme, but this is the best I've ever head. Maybe just a little too spicy for me, but otherwise, so full of flavor.
So, that was my day. If we feel up to it, we may try to scan some images into the computer tonight(new icons!!!! yay!), and if not, I'll probably just check out my new tunes, and read the book.
Tomorrow, I get to experience the pleasure that it switching computers at work. I have to transfer all my data, and move the CD-burner and modem to this other computer and I can use that one as the main data-entry system instead of the old shitty one I have now. But it'll be a pain in the ass. Oh well. It's overtime cash. I can't complain. And... I saw an article in the Milwaukee paper a few days ago, and they had different pay rates, and one of them was for Data Entry, for the average rate... And all I can say is that I have to consider myself very fortunate that I make the wages I make. I appreciate my good luck/karma whatever it is... Everyday. I am always grateful to be able to have the life I do without the education or the overall struggle a lot of people have to deal with.
But.... I will not rest until the capitalist system is destroyed!!!! Muahaaaahahahaha... OK, so i'm being a little sarcastic, but yeah. Just cuz I'm able to live fairly comfy doesn't mean that I don't think there's a lot of things that are fucked up.
OK, I'm getting sleepy. very very sleepy.
BTW, I've popped in the Nobukazu disc, and it seems to be fairly decent. Not quite as crazy minimalist as the other stuff. MAybe a little more post-rocky... Hmmm. Maybe a slight Aphex Twin influence.(a lot of synthesized vocals) Seems more low-key. There's some minimalist influences but they play more like a hint than a hammer.
I can tell it would be extra good with a really fat bowl.
