OK, I'm stupid! I just tried again, and now the tab link is working. Oops, actually, if I only have one page open, and want to add a new tab, and right click, the tab option isn't open, cuz it's not the tab region, but the "quick-link" section. That's what the problem was. OK. Sorry to bore you people like this, but just some usability "features" I've noticed. Anyone else use Mozilla BTW? If you either are on windows or linux(I know Mac has that new browser based on the Konguerer engine, I believe) But.....

GET MOZILLA!!!

1) Tabbed browsing. It will make life SOOOOO simpler when you surf. That is reason enough. But then......
2) Built in pop-up ad blocking. I forgot what pop-ups were. Once in a while there is a site or something that uses Pop-ups in a constructive way, and I need to disable it, but that's a minor inconvenience compared to having to close those damned ads all the time.

Plus the fact you're supporting open source, and also that it will help reduce microsofts strangle hold on the browser-share.

The only downside I've had is that certain plug-ins don't install properly, and, for example, WMV files load a a text document instead of the correct mime, but maybe I have to manually add) Mozilla needs a better plug-in management method. Most plugins work fine though(Real Player, for example)

SO!!!!!!

Mozilla There, get it. Now. Play with it. Enjoy. Have fun.

I use Mozilla, IE, Camino, and Safari (the last two being specifically for Mac OS X). They all have their pluses (yes, even IE). Mozilla is a rather bloated browser, but many times it will render things better than any of the others. And yes, tabbed browsing is a huge plus (something my current fave, Safari, is lacking :(). Have fun with it!

I've been using Mozilla lately and digging. I mean if you grew up on Netscape it's just like home.

Before that I was using Opera and wasn't really satisfied with it. It made certain pages load really odd or just completely wrong.

I'm looking forward to the day when I can ween myself away from windows but I don't see that happening. ideally I want to make the complete switch to a Mac OS but what would I use to play solitaire? hehe

Initially I used Mozilla as a testbed for my web page, cuz MSIE will totally load anything, even if it's coded wrong. Which is nice if you wanna be sloppy coder. But not nice if you care about standards, or even if you want it to be viewed by other OS's or browsers.

The only reason I use Windows is for 1) The games 2) Art software. Linux has "The GIMP" but it's not as full featured as I like. It's close. The fonts in linux aren't quite up to par yet, and as a result they aren't up to par in GIMP. But also, they don't allow for vector fonts as PSP does. Which is *real* nice and handy(as I'm sure you're probably aware)...

I suppose if I learn the interface of the GIMP I can learn to do a lot of stuff with it. But I have to admit, I grew up with PSP and am used to how it works. My friend Brent got me a copy of Photoshop, but I wasn't too fond of the interface(perhaps due to it's mac origins?)

Oh, and 3) Music software... I've got Cubase right now, and there's nothing of that caliber yet for Linux. AFAIK...

Mac OSX is close to an ideal, but I'm afraid of Macs. Not because of the OS, but because of the nature of their company. While they're a great multi-media OS, they're ultra-proprietary. The control over hardware and software, and the methods they utilize to keep control just aren't really too my liking. I've heard OSX is rock-solid crash-wise, but it's a bit slow. Not that linux isn't. But at least linux is open source and freely available and free in general.

But I digress. I just woke up, and still not quite with it.
