Been extremely tired quite a bit lately, think it's the winter weather. Doc upped my dosage of effexor(yes, my anti-anti-depressant friends, I'm on an SNRI...) That helps a bit, I don't feel as tired as usual, but I still don't have the energy I would like. Been reading online about conjunctive therapy of Modafinil(Pro-Vigil in the US, Modiodal in Europe) with Anti-Depressants. It's supposed to be used to boost mood, but I can see it helping me in terms of energy. It's schedule IV... Fairly safe. I would order it online, but it's fucking expensive(145 bucks for 30 pills. I found one place, that I can order it for 65 bucks or so for 30 pills, but it'd be cheaper to talk to the psych)...

What say kiddies!? Do I call him up and see if he would recommend Modafinil as a side med? I think I may, but I always feel that if I ask about something, they're gonna think I'm a seeker or something, even though this isn't a seekers chemical, from what I understand... Advice?

I'd be interested in something liftin up my mood and
most importantly -energy-; god I need that.

I was looking at online pharmacies recently as well,
I actually looked up anphetamines to see if I could
score any online. The only thing I found was this
diet pill--Phentermine. I would love to have
something to give me energy and also reduce the
appetite. But--I don't know...the price issue
of course and also I do not know anyone
personally who has tried it.

Well, the primary reason I'm interested in it, is because it's supposed to be more a mind alertness thing than a buzz or a body effect. Theoretically you can still go to sleep if you need to, but you have no problem staying awake for 48 hours at a time...

I've tried Adrafinil, which is a Modafinil analogue. It's a LOT cheaper, but: 1) You have to build up dosage, and I think Modafinil works with one dose(ie: you don't need to take over a week or two to get into your system)) 2) Adrafinil can cause problems with some liver enzymes in certain people. They recommend that if you've had liver problems to see a doctor... Modafinil doesn't have those side effects AFAIK... Olmifon is the brand-name of adrafinil. Modiodal is the french form of modafinil, but the US version is called Pro-Vigil.

Phentermine, I don't know much about, but I do know that it's part of the Fen-Phen combo that gave people problems.

I try to stay away from stimulants. I've only done ritalin, and ephedrine beyond caffeine. Ephedrine was alright back in the day. Ritalin was too short lasting for me(and I wasn't about to snort that shit)... I seem to have some weird metabolism of stimulants(except for caffeine), where I get very tired and drowsy, instead of hyper-alert. E is about the closest to amphetamines that gave me a healthy/speedy buzz. God I wish I could take it again, but alas... It's too detrimental to my personal neurochem profile. Did you look up phentermine on erowid? You might find some trip reports there...
