He claims to have been waterboarded, other instances of abuse happen. He leaves firm, the company denies it, everyone says it's "camaraderie!"
It's possible the claim is false, but if it's true, it sounds like a bunch of right-wing, Limbaugh "it's just like frat-hazing" assholes who think there's nothing wrong with being complete assholes to your fellow beings.
