WoW addiction

OK, I think the bug is biting again. :(

I knew it would happen, and I tried to stave it off, but I just wanna play, play, play! Man.

I did, however, install Baldur's Gate 2 yesterday, again, for the fucking like 5th time. I don't know why... WoW has me by the balls. While BG2 was excellent for it's time, and it's still generally good, there's something not quite... Well I like I my games more action oriented. BG2 is definitely more so than Final Fantasy, and I love the ability to pause and then choose what I want to do (in fact, that's what makes BG2 so fucking wicked).

Graphically, it's definitely dated. What I hate about having to start a game again from scratch (i.e. about 3 of those 5 installs were crashed/wiped and no saves to restore from), is having to deal with all the shit you did before, over and over and over again.

It would be nice if there was a centralized gamesave in Windows. I think Vista/Games for Windows has something like this in it's concepts. Of course, that doesn't work for old games. I really should go back and play some and backup the saves I have. I know there are some saves around, but I don't like that, because how you play a game is unique, and you won't necessarily have the same results as someone else's save.

I'd really like to get past the Zerg in SC (Never got to play Protoss). Of course, by the time I pull such a feat off, SC2 will be out. Maybe I'll just skip the original SC. I would, however, like to beat BG2 someday.

But regardless, I'm digging WoW again. I'm leveling a shitton of my alts (druid, pally and mage all leveled this weekend, some of them twice)... Leveled my Shammy last weekend. Got Symbioid (the tauren hunter) embarked on a quest with [livejournal.com profile] vesicular's help, and hopefully we can do a run in Auchindon Crypts or whatever it is. I'm working towards a War Talbuk mount. Of course, once I do that, hopefully I can get an epic flying mount. But by then, WoTLK will be out, and as I understand it, the flying outland mounts aren't available in Northrend, but in later levels there, you can get new flying mounts (oh joy...) I dunno, do I waste time and money towards an epic Flying mount?

I know [livejournal.com profile] eaghra wants to do a Sunwell Plateau run when it's out, and after looking more at the lore and shit, I can say I'm ready. I'm always hesitant for runs, because I always feel like there's pressure, but at the same time, it should be a blast.

We have 3 70s, my shammy is a 65, Dwight has a 66 or so hunter, I think, and Tony and Emm are both upper 60s, but they're probably not gonna be playing much, so it looks like we have 4 consistent players to work with, and hopefully Tony or Emm can hop on sometime to join us. Mouser is kicking all sorts of ass and getting leveled FAST, so that'll be fun if he can play with us. I don't know how much more it'll be before he hits 70, but he's already hit 50 after, ... I dunno, what, a month no more than 2???

That's my game post.

Actually Em is lvl 70 as well. So is Evil Dave (though I think he's still in law school). But yeah, there's more people to choose from if a run is wanted.

You have to get the mount anyways. The mount is the cheap part, it's the training that is pricey which, of course, you always need before progressing to the next level. So if there's a late 70's mount, you can bet it requires epic flying. I just emptied out about half my bank of enchanting supplies and made 600g in one day on the AH. Got me thinking that getting my epic flying is probably an easier grind than I once thought. I just need to find the right goods in the right spot to start blowing up and selling. Otherwise, there are tons of daily quests now that hand out 10g a pop. 2 months of that and you have an epic, not to mention loads of rep as well.

But yeah, mouser, he's the next one to show up for the later game and it won't be long. He got bit good by the bug and is quite impatient to reach 70. Pretty much 10 levels a week right now and every chance I'm on, I'm power leveling him through all the quests that will get him there the fastest b/c I can't wait myself. The only problem is that most likely within a week, I'm not going to be able to solo help him much longer. He says he'll respec to a tank, which is nice b/c then I can bring Cobh and/or respec Lerxst to holy and Brent can bring Ves. Either way, all of our bases are covered and it'll be fun. Just have to actually get to 70 AND get flying mounts. You can't do half the good instances without them.

And finally, pressure shouldn't exist for you so no need to worry about it. Pressure in runs, IMO, exists for the tank and healer. They have big jobs to fill or else people die. Everyone else is there to kill. So just shoot to your hearts content and if it still fails, then it was most likely someone else's fault. For you, the only problem is stealing aggro. And if you do, either the tank failed, you started in too quickly (not a problem really) or you need to start looking at bigger projects.
