symbioidljI don't know why. I guess I'm a sucker for punishment, but I did it. I installed my old copy of Linux Mandrake, cuz Windows fucking crashed on me one time too many, and not because it just crashed on me, but because it wouldn't detect my fucking Microsoft Mouse. imagine that. So here I sit, with the latest copy of netscape for linux typing this in. I've reinstalled linux twice, because I had a problem trying to get the KDE client installed(I've only got kde 2.x, and the client is for kde 3.0... I don't think I can install kde 3.0 without upgrading mandrake, but I have no clue how to begin with that.) Maybe I should read the manual/docs and the book that I have on linux and learn how to update the kernel. Then I can upgrade to KDE 3.0 and then get the client. I tried updating the modules it claimed to need, but got some weird fucking feedback loop and decided to reinstall everything fresh.
So, despite all the shit they say about making linux "user-friendly" I still pity the common person who has to figure this shit out. Unless they wanna be stuck with the software they get in the box and never be able to upgrade. But I'm willing and able to learn.
Sorry there's not ranting and raving about politics or deep philosophical musings lately(oh, for the past I dunno 4-6 months? maybe I'll try to write something thought provoking again, or at least some vain attempt to say what's already been said...)
Got a fucking cold from my damned boss, so that sucks. It's kinda hard to breathe a little, but I'll survive.
OK, so umm, peace out y'all! I hope to call my parents sometime this weekend, because it's been way to long since I've talked to them.
