First, apologies for pointing this shit out so much, but I can't help but be infuriated. And I know that we all know the bullshit propaganda that's occurring, but it doesn't hurt to see actual instances of it, so when you talk to others about it, you have some facts firsthand to back it up:
1)Taken from the AP -
Bush's visit to South Korea
Bush, whose provocative labeling of North Korea as part of an "axis of evil" has stirred Asian unease, arrived on a tightly secured U.S. military base in downtown Seoul, accompanied by first lady Laura Bush. The president saw none of the anti-American protests that have marred the run-up to his first visit to Korea, and indulged cheering U.S. military families with handshakes and autographs.
On the streets of Seoul itself, police in riot gear stood watch over Koreans who went about their routine with barely a passing glance at Bush's motorcade.
This directly contradicts -
2) the report from the IHT(International Herald Tribune):
A group of 28 college students protesting against U.S. President George W. Bush's visit to Seoul took over the office of the American Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Monday.
The students, who are members of Hanchonryon, a nationwide student organization, entered the Trade Tower building in Samseong-dong, southern Seoul, at 1:15 p.m. and took the elevator to the 45th floor, where the chamber office is located. After overpowering the police officers securing the office and forcing the employees out, the students barricaded themselves in by stacking office furniture
Smashing an office window, they hung out a banner denouncing Mr. Bush's visit and accusing him of war threats in his recent description of North Korea as a member of an "axis of evil."
The occupation of the office lasted for three hours. Police dispatched a special task force and firemen to retake the office and arrest the demonstrators.
... (Many more reports of protest activity against Bush in S. Korea in the article itself)...
--------
What tipped me off to this story was when I first saw the AP report before going to work, the headline was something like "Protests greet President Bush in S. Korea Visit"... However, when I read the article, it contained the text from my AP section. The contradiction befuddled me, so I did research, and found that there ARE protests. Also, they have changed the headline now to something like "Bush in S. Korea for two day visit"(which is also similar to the IHT headline)
Our crazy Liberal media. Always supporting the liberals and bashing the great conservative leaders of our era, never protecting the Republicans or standing up for them.
