what do you think about my "zine"/community idea for a web-page? do you know any good system for publishing such a thing? Or maybe some tools I can paste together?

What's wrong w/ Live Journal? You can do all that here, and make your posts private so you don't get sued. Besides, any good idea starts small. That way if it gets boring or fails, you haven't invested too much time in it. If it gets big, then you just expand upon it little by little.

I figured I'd start out small as it is... Which is why I just posted a few links here, without making a big page, but I think it would just be a fun project. I want to have an archive of it, and learn how to password protect things(ie: private, so I don't get sued), etc... Eventually, I would like to interview some of my icons...

I just want to do a fun project, and I think this is something that could give me an actual goal to work towards, instead of the silly little piecemeal page I've had before... I would still need to produce the content, but at least it would be more focused. And if I did it in a zine format, I could easily focus on publishing the next version. I dunno...

Do you know of any good code that could incorporate some of this, or some stuff I can glue together?

It's mostly for me, I suppose, and I'd hope people got use from it as well...

Like I said, I plan on starting just with my stuff, but eventually, I would like to see people contribute.

The irony of him singing "I'm still alive" (and me listening to it, reflecting on the fact that yes... he IS still alive, while those other people are dead) Not so much the song itself, but the whole process of the thing just struck me as amusing... Guess you just had to be there....

Ahh, I see I see... it was a comment on your reflection of the song, not Vedder's own meaning behind the lyrics. Gotcha.
