Congress nixes funds for new nukes
The Nuclear Calendar site reports:
Congress deleted all funds for new nuclear weapons in the omnibus appropriations bill, which passed the House of Representatives this afternoon. It is expected to pass the Senate shortly. This includes funds for the Robust Nuclear Earth penetrator, or nuclear bunker buster, and for the Advanced Concepts Initiative for new nuclear designs.
-----------
I'm sure that there's a dark lining to this, somwhere, but for now, I'd like to think this is a positive sign... Until one of you(vyoma, I'm lookin' at you! :P) can show why this isn't a good thing... I say this not in jest, but because you have a good way of breaking things down, and analyzing consequences and details most people don't give a shit about... i.e. Rand Beers' connection with John Kerry, just for one example.
