It is believed that modern psychedelic music originated in 1961 when a famous gram of LSD (known as "Lot No. H-00047") found its way to celebrities such as Donavan, Paul McCartney, Keith Richard and Timothy Leary (to name only a few, and dates are vague for McCartney and Keith Richard). Whether any music resulted is unknown. It is certain, however, that this one event kicked off a wave of international interest that remains today.
