ok, i meant to post this last night, but my comp was already shut down by the time I remembered to do so.

i saw the xbox 360 unveiling.

what a fucking joke.  i know i don't expect anything completely geeked out.  Like in depth discussion of specs and stuff.  but really?

if you saw it tell me you don't agree with me...

I just thought it was funny when the chick brought the it out, held it up a bit, then set it on a platform while the throngs of people "worship" it.  it was like some really bad cheesy cult ceremony, maybe something you'd see in xina?

the only game they appeared to show was perfect dark.  didn't look that great.  a good draw distance in the bg, but that's about it.  i mean, i know they're not gonna have a shitload of stuff to show, but come one.  oh yeah, i think they showed madden.  i dunno i was too busy fast forwarding through all the moulan rouge camera shaking and pimpin' my xbox to really give a shit.

j allard... if there is anybody that should play King Mob (in a movie based off of the Invisibles comic book).  It's J Allard.  BTW, what the fuck is the J for?

see the comparison of king mob and j after the cut.  I know he's not as "tough" as mob, but I think he could pull it off.

anyways.

Man, I just am completely disappointed in M$.  Not only did they buck tradition by this X-travaganza (pun intended), but it wasn't even anything more than we pretty much already knew.

As much as I dislike Sony and hope someone can beat them...  and I own an XBox...  I really hope this backfires on M$.

Man.  I dunno.  what more can I say?  I just wasn't expecting it to be so bad.

oh, one thing I will say is that i do think it's nice the xbox can be turned on by the controller or remote.  that's a pretty fucking smart move, and i'm surprised nobody's thought of it before...

from cliffyb's blog (cliff blezinski (sp?), lead dude from unreal...)

"Didja catch the Xbox 360 MTV special?

Didja catch the game I'm designing, "Gears of War" on it?

Didja blink? Because it was on for for all three seconds!

Heh. At least the name is confirmed.

Anyways, the special did what it was supposed to do - announce a kickin rad new platform. I could deal with less Sunset Strip Skybar Hipsters trying to glom onto our industry."

also, he's pretty fucking hot.  that's just my opinion, though.

WarpGames.

This is another thing I was thinking tonight.

I want games developed and published by Warp. I want their musicians to contribute and their video and animation people involved. I want to see them have programmers working on the code and creating works of art and interactive entertainment. But there has to be a slow process to get there.

I also think Warp should record all shows live. Put them up on bleep.com... Give attendees of the show a special password to allow them to access it for free before it's officially available. Reward people who go to the show...

The final thing that I think would be cool is to create a foundation for the research of music technologies and work in conjunction with MIT. MIT has already produced many musical interface projects. And I could see musical instruments and toys, software and hardware... Then, when they sell an album, part of the price will go to this foundation, and you will have a place for people to contribute (could you get a tax exempt status for that foundation? hmm....) to the foundation as well.

I'm not sure all of this is really feasible, but I think that there's certainly potential for some of it, even if in reduced form...
