hmmmm... downloading the ISO images for Mandrake 9.1...
I feel somehow like I should be shamed for "only" using Mandrake and not something like Slackware or Gentoo...
I used Debian back in 98, and I could use a more "hardcore" system, but I'd rather not fuss too much with details if I don't have too, but still have the options available if I want to...
Anyways, it takes toooooooo fucking long to get 2 gigs worth of data on the net. *sigh*
From what I've seen, Mandrake 9.1 looks to be a damn good distro. I only hope that it actually can be read on my CD. my 8.2 discs work just fine, but 9.0 is shit, and I have to run 8.2 at this point... We'll see.
And I'm kicking ass in Metroid. Then after I beat that, I'm gonna get back into WarCraft III... Jesus, I've no clue why I'm getting sucked into games again, but I just feel the need to play.

Date: 2003-03-28 12:09 am (UTC)i mean, yeah, it does take 40 hrs to compile a complete system + X + KDE + GNOME + openoffice, but after that, it s smooth sailin. or just use the stagebuild and get there mucho quicko.
if it doesn t work, well..... gentoo has the best documentation and user support of any distro i ve ever used! and i ve used em all!
