"Should any Iraqi officer or soldier receive an order from Saddam Hussein or his sons or any of the killers who occupy the high (offices) of their government, my advice is don't follow that order because if you should do so, when Iraq is liberated, you will be treated, tried and persecuted as a war criminal," Bush said

OK, so... Let's ignore that "persecuted" and pretend he said "prosecuted" Now, let's get to the meat of the issue.

Let's say that the soldiers of Iraq are ... *gasp* merely doing what any AMERICAN (well, nationalist pig american who likes the military, at least) would do, when their country is attacked, and that is defend it. Now, the commander in chief(in this case, Saddam), gives an order. And you follow that order. You are now, by very nature of your self-defense, a "War Criminal"? I guess I see why we don't want to be involved in that messy war crimes court (The International Criminal Court), because they actually have rules about what constitutes a war criminal, and defending your country is not one of them. Maybe he was trying to say "don't do anything war-criminalish dictated by Saddam"

But I like to think of our president as a plain-spoken man. A man who says what he means... A man of the people. Not a fast talkin' politician, not a washington insider. You know, a good ol' boy from Texas... And since he didn't specify "war-crimes" but merely stated "if you follow orders" even if they were to merely defend yourself if you were being shot at... I take him at face value. (reptilian as that face may be)
