about target's new pill bottle design:

(8) Clear warnings.
Adler decided that many of the existing warning symbols stuck on pill bottles don’t make much sense—the sign for “take on an empty stomach,” for instance, looked like a gas tank to her—so together with graphic designer Milton Glaser, for whom she now works, she revamped the 25 most important.

This reminds me of the gag on arrested development where it shows "no alcohol" symbol, and a winking eye, for blurred vision.  The mother had problems seeing, and thought it was a wink and a nod to drink AND take the meds at the same time. haha.

buddy christ bobblehead!  fuck yeah.  i gotta get me this and put it on my car.

I sang this to Rosemary, because we were talking about the rapture. She mentioned how weird it would be growing up believing in that shit, and what sort of abandonment issues it must leave. I was reminded of this song that we sang. And the story of how one night my mom went to a ladies meeting at church, and was really, really, really late, and I was up, waiting and waiting. My dad was at work, so I was home alone. Of course, I was afraid I was "left behind." Fortunately, there was WRVM, the Christian radio that my mom listened to. This wasn't like today. There weren't a hundred fucking xian stations out there. This one came in weakly. I still remember the organ intro to their cheesy radio plays.

Anyways, I thought I should turn on the radio, and see if it was working. If so, then of COURSE! the rapture had not happened. If it was off the air, they were taken away, and I didn't believe enough, and now I had to live through the tribulation. Yeah. Not realizing that there's a thing called tape players (again, before digital systems really were used in radio, AFAIK. kinda like those old "please stand by" messages on TV while they had to fix the tape that got fucked up... anyways...)

So.

I began to belt it out in a girly tenor voice...

Life was filled with guns and war
And everyone got trampled on the floor.
I wish we'd all been ready.
Children died, the days grew cold,
A piece of bread could buy a bag of gold.
I wish we'd all been ready.
There's no time to change your mind,
The Son has come and you've been left behind.

A man and wife asleep in bed,
She hears a noise, she turns her head, he's gone!
I wish we'd all been ready.
Two men walking up a hill,
One disappears and one's left standing still.
I wish we'd all been ready.
There's no time to change your mind,
The Son has come and you've been left behind.

There's no time to change your mind.
How could you have been so blind?
The Father spoke, the demons dined,
The Son has come and you've been left behind.
You've been left behind
You've been left behind!
