OH, why? Sounds like Spore (and Mass Effect, but Spore is the one I want to play, really) is going to use SecuROM DRM. Requiring you to check into their servers every 10 days or be locked out. Oh, you can recheck again, and be able to play. But still. I'm so sick of DRM.


Guess Spore is fucking out of reach now :(

Did you see that EA has made changes, thanks to all the pressure? Thought you might find that interesting, sorry if you've heard it already.

Yeah. I heard that. I saw it at least about Mass Effect, but didn't see it about Spore.

Still not happy about it, but it's more like Steam, I guess. I'm still confused about how it all works. We'll see. On the other hand, I guess Spore really derives a lot of it's utility from being online, so it's not like I won't need to be online anyways. Just like WoW has checks to guarantee shit.

Welcome to the future, huh? But not having to put the CD in is definitely nice. And hell, tons better than looking for word 43 on paragraph 3 of page 10 in the instruction manual.
