While going to the search bar in firefox and doing a search, I realized as the search page (wikipedia in this case) was opening in the current tab, and didn't know here the hell I previously had it set to load the search in a new tab. I went to about:config, but for some reason I can't find it there under either "tab" or "search" strings...

Then I realized that it's sad that I can't hit "/" and have a little search bar to refine the search further. That is, do search using the provided about:config search bar, then be able to do the normal "find on page" to find and highlight a secondary term out of those results.

Or, I further reflected that they should allow logical operators within the main search bar. so I'd just type tab & search, or perhaps Google's syntax tab + search...

and the lines with tab and search (or, heh heh... you could do "tab AND search") would display. You could do all the boolean operations... OR, XOR, NOT (although why you'd want to do not in such a search doesn't come readily to mind)

The second thing I realized was that, AFAICT, there is no simple way to cycle through the search engines while you're in the search bar. That is, if I want to switch from the Pedia to Google, I have to physically move to the mouse and select from the search bar drop down menu... I could be wrong. If so and anyone knows (and is reading), could you tell me? Thanks :)

The Nintendo LSd...

You've seen the dual-screen.

Touch is good, indeed!

Licking is better.

That's why we've introduced the Nintendo Lickable Screen Dual.

Just like your favorite blotter paper.

The more you lick, the more fun you have.

the world is a self writing story being told as it grows through genetic replication.  the whole gaian genome is essentially one big story of self discovery of life on a planet.

ok, so pro-life cyborgs for jesus.

how was i figuring this?  so, the pope says we must take the measures to live.  isn't it hypocritical of him to deny himself extreme measures to keep him alive, even if he were to fall into the state of Terri Schiavo???  Because she's alive, and it would be wrong to kill her, so isn't it wrong to deny himself the treatment necessary for the continuation of his life?

and if it is wrong, why stop at a ventilator or feeding tube?  what about other artifical bionic means?  the 6 billion dollar pope!

wkawkakwakwa... (you know,... that 6 million dollar sound)

anyways.  if it's unjust to let someone die naturally, and you must preserve life at all costs, then won't this necessarily bring about the age of cyborgs, because by necessity people will need to extend their lives with machine technology as their organs fail and are replaced with synthetic substitutes.

so then we have pro-jesus cyborgs ready to force everyone else to become one of them.  would this explain xianity's embrace of capital (yes, I'm leaving out things like liberation theology, and even the pope's more socialistic tendencies) but overall, maybe, since the machines are required, and capitalism is efficient at producing machines, and god wants us to be cyborgs (apparently), then that's why xianity and capitalism mix...

Are the xians going to someday mix with the extropians/transhumanists?  that's just wrong!

album idea:

Kirlian Rainbow.

An image of a sprouting seed in the foreground, emanating a rainbow that fills the sky.

I'd like to see this generated as a cover.  A concept album dealing with plant energy/consciousness/awareness.  Perhaps getting into auras, and karma, and reincarnation.

Aha!  Then, portray a pregnant biodroid.  In the vein of Alex Grey, but instead of human organics, robotic/electronic interfaces.  This could be the second disc or a mini-ep.

idea: custom script that allows you to post entries to multiple "social bookmarking" sites from one form.

site-specific fields will be indicated as such. a field that only furl, for example, uses "clipping" as part of its form, but <a href="http://del.icio.us>del.icio.us</a> doesn't use that box in its form. would be highlighted orange(furl uses on orange logo), and for any other logo of other sites with different systems for bookmarking. Wonder how hard that would be to code... Probably not too hard.

"Popeye falls under the influence of the laced berries and becomes surly and mean, striking out at his friends and allies. Yet he still manages to get five gallons of "myrtholene," a joy-inducing drug which he pours over the plant's roots. The new berries produce delirious happiness, and as Popeye says, "When a man's happy he jus' couldn't do nothin' wrong.""
AI Tagging system - context of document, analyze other tags(folksonomies)...

democratic - most popular tags rise to top, this system can utilize these tags to more accurately "hit" a category, based by parsing content of doc data.
don't know if I've ever posted this idea, but one thing that bugs me is that the "copy this link location" or "copy image location" in mozilla only copies the URL, which actually isn't bad for the link location, considering LJ parses the URL anyways, so you don't have to put the tags around it, but for images, you always have to type the img tag. It's nice I can copy the location of the image to the clipboard to paste in the tag, but wouldn't it be nice to have the menu selection automatically create the tag in the clipboard so when you paste it, you already have a fully formed tag? It would save a little more time.

It just seems to make sense to me.

I wanna see a Charlie Kaufman plotted/scripted(?) video game.

I would love to see how he could put me in a really fucked up situation and sorting it out, and then, at the end, I find out how it all fits together, like his movies.
