i think i cracked something in a good way.
i was messing with my wrist where i could feel tension related to the numbness stuff i was talking about earlier. and i know i have this weird sort of double-jointed(?) type thingy (I shoudl take a video sometime so you can see/hear what i can do, it's pretty interesting) anyways...

i popped it somehow, and now my hand feels more loose. i can tell it could still get numb due to the tension in other areas of my arm and nerves (all the way up a point on my shoulder where the neck hits) but the point on the hand? That feels less tingly and more normal.

who knows if it will stay that way.

ultimately i need to see that physical therapist and masseuse. But til then i think... aww, shit, i moved my neck back and it hit this spot on my shoulder and it triggered it again. but it still feels looser, even if it's tingly. so that's better than it was.

you think the potatoes on the last thing was weird...

when i was a kid, i would take hotdogs, put them in the bun, then spread a spoonful of mashed potatoes on top then squirt ketchup on. actually that was pretty good, if a bit... unorthodox.

interesting day so far:

1) dealing w/tech support issues on two fronts, one seemingly resolved, the other waiting to hear from programmer... *sigh*

2) had OJ (and yeah, a sausage egg mcmuffin, but just one!) for breakfast.

3) apparently they're making sure no-one gets OT in the coming month or two? I don't really have that problem at this time of the year, but the assessors have to cut back to no more than 40 hours. How that's gonna make it at the end of the year when we have to bust ass to catch up??? I understand it's due to trying to make sure we don't have to pay out money that's not coming in, but... it's just more strain down the line! ugh. oh well.

4) umm, i think that's it. Oh it's fucking HUMID! And I don't particularly like that in combination with this almost 90 degree heat we've been having. Oh well.

5) looking into pygame for programming graviton, now. still not quite sold on it, but...

well here's what I want:

And nothing fits that criteria exactly. So, I guess it's either learn python more, deal with pointers, or not have a good fast responsive full screen system (processing).

I'd really like a C-syntaxy language with whitespace (like python) without pointers. Someone invent that, please.

chronic cannabis use induces hippocampus neurogenesis:

"It has been shown that acute, high doses of cannabinoids produce anxiety-like effects in rats and depression-like effects in mice. But chronic administration of high, but not low, doses of HU210 exerts anxiolytic- and antidepressant-like effects. This suggests that cannabinoids are the only illicit drug that can promote adult hippocampal neurogenesis following chronic administration. “This increase in hippocampal neurogenesis underlies the mechanism of anxiolytic- and andtidepressant-like effects produced by a high dose chronic HU210 treatment.”"

Yes our cat kisses us.

She also bathes my goatee (though not in this clip).

For a while, she even was really into licking the inside of my ear!!! WTF? She is a WEIRD cat!

Pics (Park)

Today, I went for a drive after work. After taking some country roads, I ended up driving into town and towards Tenney Park. I wanted to go there, but there were so many people there, and I'm still a bit anxious, so I was sad and a bit mad at myself, until, as I was driving, I noticed a small park near there (Burrows Park right off of Sherman Ave) So I drove there and took some pics.

Also have some pics of my food yesterday :)

snow leopard enhancements:

Finally, Mac OS X will drop the age-old standard of tracking hard drive capacity in terms of base 2 numbers. Whereas 1MB is usually equal to 1,024KB, and 1GB is equal to 1,024MB (that's 2^10, in case you were wondering), hard drive manufactures have for years used more common base 10 counting, so 1MB equals 1,000KB, 1GB equals 1,000MB, as so on. Snow Leopard will adopt the same convention, at least as far as hard drives are concerned. This will eliminate the discrepancy you would get when plugging in a 200GB hard drive, for instance, and Mac OS X would report the capacity as 185.99GB.

This would be fine and dandy if the FILEs were measure as such, but they aren't, so now a disk will actually LOOK like it has more space, but it will appear to fill up quicker than it otherwise would.

This is lame.

I know the whole "OMG, Kilo is 1000, and we use 1024 for kilo, and we shouldn't, cuz kilo is an SI measurment and Bytes aren't..." so they invent something called "kibi" (i.e. kibibytes) to indicate 1024 instead of 1000. But then you have to remember the two formats kibi vs kilo (which isn't that hard, but then you have kb vs kib on a drive blah blah)

This whole naming thing is stupid. Just keep it 1024 and call it kilo. I hate this whole game the hard drive industry played to make their drives look larger in capacity (8 kb vs 8 kib is 8000 vs 8192 respectively) so they say 8kb, but when you take it home, it appears less, when your file sizes are measured in kibi instead of kilo.

And now apple gives into the drive manufacturers? *sigh*
file-sharing insurance.

make money off da moochas...

say... 5 bucks a month or even less, i dunno. guarantee record confidentiality.

if a suit is ever brought against you, you can tap into the insurance to pay the costs of defense (maybe?) or the fines...

would heavy file-sharers buy into such a thing?

I wonder because of the Jammie Thomas ruling recently that fines her 1.9 million dollars. Seriously, fucked up.

Of course, this would assume people thought the risks were high enough to pay into it, and I don't think most people do.

Of course, yesterday was nice and sunny, but I was sooo slacky (no shower, no coffee, lots of naps -- did cook some food though (2x on the stove: pancakes for breakfast and late night dinner was this pasta/chicken/snap-peas/peas/corn/carrots with herbs seasoning thingy I had in the freezer)

anyways, wanted to go out for a country drive yesterday, but like I said, just slacked.  Then of course, today, I work (just a few hours nothing major, easy stuff) and figured since I'm out, I'll go for the drive then.  But of course now they say T-Storms for the next few days (which I like) but it'd be nice for sunny day to drive, walk along a country road and take pics, etc.

OH WELL!  :(

Still drive, and if it's not raining will try to get out and take pics.  Meh.
